IASR Accessibility Compliance Policy
Our Commitment
Downtown Auto Group (“DAG”) is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We are dedicated to ensuring all of our customers, employees, suppliers, job applicants, and guests are provided with equal opportunity to access our premises and use our services.
We will ensure that we comply with or exceed our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (“IASR”) to the AODA.
Intent
The purpose of this policy is to describe how DAG’s policies, practices, and procedures help us achieve accessibility through compliance with the IASR.
Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
Downtown Auto Group has developed a multi-year accessibility plan that outlines the steps we’ve taken, and will take, to prevent and remove barriers to accessibility in accordance with the IASR. DAG’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan is available on our website at dag.cars/aoda and in an accessible format upon request.
Training
Anyone who is an employee or volunteer of DAG, who participates in developing our policies, or who provides goods, services, or facilities on our behalf will receive training on:
- Any changes to our accessibility policies, practices, and procedures
- The requirements of the IASR
- The Human Rights Code as it pertains to people with disabilities
The training will be appropriate to the duties of the person receiving the training.
Downtown Auto Group will maintain a record of the training provided, including the dates on which it was provided and the number of individuals to whom it was provided.
Information and Communication Standards
Accessible Formats and Communication Supports
Downtown Auto Group will provide accessible formats and communication supports for persons with disabilities upon request and consultation, at no additional cost and in a timely manner. Where it is not possible to do so, we will explain why and do our best to provide a summary of the content in an accessible format.
Feedback
Downtown Auto Group will also provide accessible formats and communication supports for our feedback process for persons with disabilities upon request and consultation, at no additional cost and in a timely manner.

Web Content
All new web content on DAG’s websites will be WCAG 2.0, Level AA compliant by January 2021, except where compliance is not practicable.
Emergency Procedures, Plans, or Public Safety Information
Where we’ve prepared emergency procedures, plans, or public safety information and made them available to the public, we will provide those procedures, plans, and information in an accessible format or with appropriate communication supports upon request and in a timely manner.
Employment Standard
Recruitment
Downtown Auto Group will notify applicants, employees, and the public about the availability of accommodation for applicants with disabilities in our recruitment processes.
Recruitment, Assessment, or Selection Process
Downtown Auto Group will notify job applicants when they are individually selected to participate further in an assessment or selection process that accommodations are available upon request in relation to the materials or processes to be used.
If a selected applicant requests an accommodation, we will consult with the applicant and provide, or arrange for the provision of, a suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant's accessibility needs due to disability.
Notice to Successful Applicants
When making offers of employment, we will notify the successful applicant of our policies for accommodating employees with disabilities.
Informing Employees of Supports
Downtown Auto Group will continue to inform its employees of its policies (and any updates to those policies) used to support employees with disabilities, including policies on the provision of job accommodations that take into account an employee's accessibility needs due to disability.
This information will be provided to new employees as soon as practicable after commencing employment.
Accessible Formats and Communication Supports for Employees
Upon the request of an employee with a disability, Downtown Auto Group will:
- Consult with the employee to provide, or arrange for the provision of, accessible formats and communication supports
- Ensure that the employee has access to information needed to perform their job
- Ensure that the employee has access to information that is generally available to other employees
In determining the suitability of an accessible format or communication support, Downtown Auto Group will consult with the employee making the request.

Workplace Emergency Response Information
Downtown Auto Group will provide individualized workplace emergency response information to employees who have a disability if:
- The disability is such that the individualized information is necessary
- Downtown Auto Group is aware of the need for accommodation due to the employee's disability
We will provide this information as soon as practicable after becoming aware of the need for accommodation.
Where the employee requires assistance, and with the employee’s consent, Downtown Auto Group will provide the workplace emergency response information to the designated person providing assistance.
Downtown Auto Group will review the individualized workplace emergency response information when:
- The employee moves to a different location in the organization
- The employee's overall accommodation needs or plans are reviewed
- We review our general emergency response policies
Documented Individual Accommodation Plans
Downtown Auto Group will maintain a written process for the development of documented individual accommodation plans for employees with disabilities.
If requested, information regarding accessible formats and communication supports provided will also be included in individual accommodation plans.
In addition, the plans will include:
- Individualized workplace emergency response information (where required)
- Any other accommodation that is to be provided
Return to Work Process
Downtown Auto Group maintains a documented return to work process for employees who have been absent from work due to a disability and who require disability-related accommodations to return to work.
The return-to-work process outlines the steps Downtown Auto Group will take to facilitate the return to work and will include documented individual accommodation plans as part of the process.
This return-to-work process will not replace or override any other return-to-work process created by or under any other statute (i.e., the Workplace Safety Insurance Act, 1997).
Performance Management, Career Development & Advancement, and Redeployment
Downtown Auto Group will take into account the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities, as well as individual accommodation plans, in the following areas:
- Performance management processes
- Career development and advancement opportunities
- Redeployment of employees
Feedback Process
In accordance with our Commitment, we welcome all feedback about the way in which we serve people with disabilities and about the feedback process itself. We will investigate complaints about the way in which we serve people with disabilities.
Providing Feedback
Where practicable, we will provide alternative formats of communication if a person with a disability is unable to use one of the formats provided here.
